Early one morning Ed Kaaya, our guests and I set out onto the plains north of Singita Mara River Tented Camp. Whilst scanning we heard a jackal alarm call and upon investigating came across a large male lion that had chased a male leopard and female and her cub up a sausage tree. The male leopard was very shy and even from approximately one hundred meters out made a dash from the tree. The male lion who appeared to have lost interest, immediately chased him up another tree. The story repeated itself as the leopard once again tried to escape, only to be chased again up into a euphorbia – incredible action from the northern Serengeti.
