Jacques Briam

Field Guide, Sabi Sand

Who would you choose as your ideal wilderness companion? Someone who is trained, qualified, knowledgeable, experienced in survival skills, well-travelled and able to communicate in a number of languages? Jacques ticks all these boxes – plus he can show you a trick or two about selecting the right angle to capture the essence of the moment with your camera, then processing and printing images of your unique experience in the wild.

This modern-day renaissance man speaks English, French and Spanish; has done solo trekking in Nepal; studied in India’s Bandhavgarh and Ranthambore National Parks and backpacked 90 miles through the remote mountain backcountry in America’s Rocky Mountains. When he completed his training as a guide, he notched up time in the bush at five lodges in the Greater Kruger before joining Singita. Besides conversing with guests about anything including the purpose of life, he enjoys reading, music and playing sport.
