Nicodemus Temu

Field Guide, Grumeti, Lamai

Nicodemus was born in 1986 in Arusha, Tanzania.

Rather than a story of rags to riches, his journey to becoming a guide is better described as one of ‘beverages to bushes’. Nicodemus joined Singita in 2009 as a waiter, but as soon as he earned a certificate in food and beverages from Castore College in 2012, he was promoted to the guiding department where he was in charge of training Singita guides in food hospitality. As rewarding as he found teaching, he decided that he needed to step outdoors and he enrolled and qualified to become a guide at Singita Grumeti, a role he thoroughly enjoys.

His favorite animal is the elephant and his best sighting to date has been a pack of wild dogs hunting and taking down a young wildebeest.
