Margaux was born in Pretoria, South Africa. Having an ardent nature lover, traveller and naturalist as a father, inclined her hearth to the wild as a little girl.
She completed a Field Guide Qualification in 2003, then obtained a BTech degree in EcoTourism Management from Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and was contracted by them and South African National Parks to conduct the annual Lion Census in the Kruger National Park.
The joy of sharing the wonders of the wild took her into teaching at various Guide Training schools, but when wanderlust set in, she and husband JP ended up guiding in the Kalahari for two years. Her fascination with big trees, rivers and elephant took them back to the Lowveld to join Singita Kruger National Park where her prime interests are tracking, animal behaviour and ecology and her hobbies include yoga, photography, birding, and the folklore of African tribes.
