Henry Parsons

Field Guide, Kruger National Park

Henry has been in the safari industry for 23 years and has guided extensively throughout southern and east Africa and considers himself privileged to have worked and lived in some of the most beautiful and wild areas in the world.

Most recently, prior to joining Singita, he has worked as a Field Guide Trainer in some of the most beautiful wilderness areas in South Africa and Botswana.

Henry is in love with the Singita concession in Kruger National Park and currently calls it home.

The Kruger National Parks holds fond childhood memories, “Joining Singita Kruger National Park has been like returning home, after a long trip full of adventures. The adventures here so far have been awe-inspiring, in this incredible part of the Kruger National Park”.

Henry’s greatest passion is creating true and authentic wilderness experiences and exposing people to environments and situations that allow them to reconnect with nature.

As a passionate conservationist and naturalist, he loves being out there on foot. This, he says, is, “The only way of truly experiencing wilderness.”

But, getting close to the hairies and scaries requires a vehicle, not wanting to intrude on the personal space of the wildlife, viewing from a vehicle is the way to go.

He is in his element when he is sharing the knowledge he has gained over the many years on safari and when connecting with people.

He is still an active mentor, trainer and assessor of field guide students and is always happy to share and learn.

Henry’s qualifications include; FGASA Specialist Field Guide Level 3; Advanced Rifle Handling; Lead Rifle/Full Trails Guide; Range Officer; and he is also a FGASA accredited Trainer and Assessor.
