Glass Marimane

Head Tracker, Kruger National Park

Glass was born in 1973 on Othava Farm near the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, South Africa.

Although young, it was his responsibility to take care of his father’s cattle, roaming far from home, watching for tracks to make sure he kept the herd safe from predators like lion, hyena and leopard while fending for himself by trapping birds and hunting small animals.

He started his career as a tracker in 1996 in the Timbavati Game Reserve and joined Singita in 2002, later transferring to the Kruger National Park. Glass was promoted to Head Tracker in 2005, a position he still holds and has one of the highest tracking qualifications in South Africa. This proud father of two boys and two girls is revered as one of the most iconic trackers of our time who often mentors aspiring youngsters, infusing them with his infectious passion for flora and fauna.
